Journalling techniques

Journaling can be a powerful companion on your healing journey. It creates space to process emotions, recognise patterns, and rediscover your voice — especially after experiencing abuse or trauma.

You don’t have to be a writer.

There are no rules.

Just a pen, a page, and a willingness to explore your own truth. Whether you’re looking for guided prompts, printable pages, or full journals to deepen your practice, this section offers tools to help you reconnect with yourself — one word at a time.

It doesn't matter how you do it. Journaling is personal to you, and for it to be successful you need to figure out what works for you.

When you feel ready to start, find somewhere quiet and comfortable. This might be a corner of your room, your parked car, or a digital note on your phone.

What matters most is that it feels like your own. You don’t have to write every day — just when you feel the nudge.

Some days, writing may feel too much,  and that’s okay. You don't need to write every day for it to help.

You can write just one word or one sentence. Use voice notes instead. Doodle, scribble, or colour in, or even just read back older entries and remind yourself how far you’ve come.

There’s no wrong way to journal. Be kind with yourself, and let this practice be one of self-compassion, not perfection.
